It felt a lot like watching the events staged in the petro-states: Nice venue, big prize purse, handful of invited top-level pros, and almost no spectators.
The lack of spectators was reminiscent of pandemic times. Such a missed opportunity and must have felt ‘hollow’ from the athletes’ PoV (mitigated by the warmth of their bank balance enhancement).
