Chafing on the run

I find that on all runs over 10K I chafe ‘down there’. I’ve tried lots of different kinds of shorts. Any suggestions?

I bought some compression shorts for run training and have not had any chafing problems since. Alternatively, have you tried BodyGlide or similar?

Aquaphor - slather liberally…

i agree…bike shorts help you chafe less (the “underwear” in run shorts chafes where the leg meets the body) and bodyglide every day…if you still have a problem, see a dermatologist, they have ointments to keep you “moisturized”
.

Are you using running shorts or tri-shorts? My running shorts kill me too.

I use Desoto tri-shorts for running and biking.

I would wear them to work if they let me.

I’ve tried both running shorts and various compression shorts. I have never used any lube. I am due for a 12 miler today. I will try bodyglide and compression shorts. And will revert tomorrow.

Tks for the suggestions.

Just run in your tri shorts. I run in Orcas usually. I also have Desotos. They are far more comfy that any running short setup.

Bodyglide, chamois cream, etc, do nothing for this problem for me.

Definitly use lube. I’ve never tried body glide but vasoline lotion, cetphil, or any other type works. I ran a marathon in April and had no problems because I used plenty of lube…

“Down there” as in between your thighs, or higher? I chaff between my upper, inner thighs, so when wearing running shorts I liberally lube with baby oil. Usually I wear compression shorts, but don’t like wearing additional support necessary for modesty purposes. Lately I’ve been running in swimming jammers that have the front liner, no chaffing or modesty issues. Good luck.

Last night I did a 10 miler. Tri shorts and body glide. No problems at all. Next week I am doing 12 miles. I have high hopes.

Tks for all the advice.
