Cervelo Soloist Sizing

I am 5’9" and was all set of purchasing 54cm size Cervelo.
seemed comfortable enough, few roadies said that is nice fit.
then i start talking to bike shop owner and he recommends 56cm.
I went thru wrenchscience.com and cervelo. did all the sternum (56) ,height, (69), inseam (32) etc, I fall right in between on sizing chart.
of course, i have good deal on 54cm but want to get general feeling out there on what size riders ride what size bikes.

thanks

Kerry

How long is the TT on your current bike? and how does that fit you?

i ride 51cm P3C. its fits comfortable but then again, been told i could be on 54cm. i was just in between.
think you just set me up and i answered my own question… thanks.

I worked in a shop that sold cervelos and generally speaking (I know it dosent work for everybody) but we had lots of folks who had cervelo road and TT rigs, I have to say that 99% of the people who had both rode their TT bike one size smaller than their road bike (myself included).

Doesn’t slowman advocate having the biggest frame that fits you as you might as well have the stack and reach be part of the frame rather than spacers or stem?

I’m 5’10" and fit perfect on the 54 Soloist Carbon with 110 stem. Depends how you want to “ride”. The 56 has 2 cm taller headtube (in addition to the longer top tube) that some may find more comfortable. If you intend to road/crit race, most rec the “smaller” bike.

luck would have it i have few extra stems and one is 110 (90 on bike now).
using bike for few road races but mainly fast weekend rides to get fit for Tri season
