Cervelo soloist and Alpha Q elios fork

I need to replace the star nut on my Cervelo Soloist team. The Alpha Q elios fork has a steerer diameter of 1 1/8" but very thin walls. THe problem is that conventional star nuts (at least those that I tried) won’t fit the internal diameter and they stay very loose. I’ve tried with some expandable plugs but same problem, I don’t find one that expands enough to stay tight in place.

I’m sure there should be something out there that fits this fork. Any of you had the same problem and found the appropriate one?.. Gerald??.

Thanks

with most of the True temper stuff (Alpha Q, Wolf, etc.), you are supposed to “glue” or bond in a metal sleeve into the carbon steerer tube, then use the star nut. It is darn tight then

Compression Cap?

Mmm, I think you should take your fork to a shop and have them set you up. The Alpha-Q has an aluminum sleeve that glues inside the carbon steerer tube. Sounds like you haven’t installed it, and if you try to use a star nut on a carbon steerer tube you’ll be in trouble.
