I think I read somewhere on here that the new Selle San Marco Aspide triathlon gel saddle does not fit on p2k/p3 seat posts due to lack of clearance for the seat post knob on top of the clamp. Can anyone verify if this is true before I order one from my LBS, also can anyone who has ridden that and the Azoto Tri gel saddle tell what difference you noticed between the two. Thanks
I have the Aspide on my P3 and it fits fine. I think the newer P2K/P3’s come with a low profile knob on the seatpost. If yours has the older knob you can order the low profile one from Cervelo’s web site and you’ll be fine.

Just to add to this, there are two adjuster bolt. The standard one is the most user-friendly, but does not work with some saddles (with a small rail-to-deck clearance) in some positions. Note that it is not a simple matter of some saddles working and others not, the position of the head and the fore-aft position of the saddle on the rails affects this. As you can see from the posts above the Azoto usually works, but sometimes it does not.
For those cases where it doesn’t work we have made another adjuster bolt, called the “reduced clearance seatpost head adjuster bolt” (3 times the word value at Scrabble). On the top right of the main page of our website, there is a Quick Link to the parts order form where you will find this part.
Gerard, can I order one of these triple word scores along with a carbon seatpost one of these days? It is no fun paying 15.00 shipping for a $2.50 bolt.
Yes you can. We’re pretty far along in shipping the back-ordered 2003 posts out, and we’re getting another seatpost assembly line going right now, so fairly soon we will have them available for aftermarket sales. And your dealer can simply order that post with the reduced height adjuster “out of the box”.
Very appropriate topic as I am sitting here trying to get my Trigel Aside saddle mounted on my new 2004 P3. I have to agree with Tom that is does work with the standard bolt but does take quite a bit of patience and a quiet house. Thanks for the comments.
