Does the S5 come with a steering lock pin like the P5?
I’ve got paint chips on both sides of the headtube drop and fork crown. It occurred while navigating the bike up a narrow stairwell and around sharp corners and allowing the bars to rest on left & right side. A bit bummed since I’ve only had the bike a few days, one trainer, and one outside ride.
To prevent this from happening in the future I’ve put rubber bumpers on the areas it would hit on the fork. Other than not turning the bars/fork at sharp angles are there any other ideals/solutions to prevent this?
Id imagine this is pretty common with the design. Its happened to mine and I just put some clear 3m protective tape in the area. Its been fine since then. Its the price you pay for a killer aero ride.
Not sure how big the bumpers are, but they could ruin your aero. We normally put a warning sticker on our frames so people will not find out for the first time in the form of a bunch of chips/gauges.
I like you’re ideal of warning stickers. I was able to cover up the chips w/ flat black model paint, turned out nice. Bumpers sit behind the brakes, but I’m sure there’s bit of aero loss. Ordered some of that invisible car bra film as mention by the other reply.

thx,
Can you post a pic of the areas you are talking about?? I would like to prevent that happening on my S5.
My touch up job makes it tough to see the chips. Slowly and carfully turn your bars and watch the botton edge/point of the headtube (areo fairings). You’ll see the front of the fork crown come close or in contact w/ the botton edge of the headtube. There’s nothing to stop it if the bike was to fall or during a crash.
