Cervelo S5 Clip On Aero Bars?

I’m possibly getting an S5 and was wondering which clip on bars would go well with this bike. The two I had in mind are the Vision Tech mini’s or the Profile Design T2 +. Welcome to hear any suggestions or comments regarding this choice.

just depends on how you want to position yourself, nothing about the bike would favor a particular bar innately.

however assuming you want to set it up AS a road bike first, TT bike second, I would go with something like:

just because its on a similar weird-and-cool space as the s5 is =)

Those do look nice but wow 900.00!

well…the team version is ONLY 700
and the pro versions should be even cheaper

plus that includes the handlebars and the clip ons, you can’t afford not to do this!

The controltech ones are much cheaper (and great for such an aero road bike) :

.

suggestion 3T clip ons, very nice and very low on the handlebar, all ordinary extensions will fit

.

I find it very difficult to believe the the extra wing tip thing connecting the shorty bars adds anything but extra weight, aero drag, and reduced comfort/adjustability on these bars, http://www.3tcycling.com/...erobars&p=zefiro. They just look gimmicky

they are sort of specifically made for itu-racing

ITU rules require bars to be ‘bridged’
.

buy from the UK and save…

$575

they are bridged…

I think that if you aren’t running cables to shifters on the tips then something like the ZBS might be nice if you can handle the 0 stack.

that was my point
.

Control Tech AL cockpit for $118. ITU-sanctioned too if you care.

Dragging up an old thread but… wanting to put some clip-ons on my S5 as well, which one did you choose and how did they go?

Pro stealth evo + stealth evo clip on?

trying to avoid buying a new set of bars, have a good set of 3T ergo bars already and want to just clip them on and off easily.

Depends on how you are set up and what drop bars you are going to use. I think if you are creative you could build up your own using some different parts. That is what I am doing but going aero drop bars with integrated stem, internal run cables and the ability to run extension if wanted.

How is everyone liking the S5 so far? Is it a good compromise for a dual bike?

I see. Well I bought the zipp vuka and s-bends. Very comfortable setup. I am planning on installing my di2 climber button on the extensions
