The Silver/blue is the ultegra sl version of the P2C. The other color option is the Red/silver already viewable on the cervelo.com website.
What do you think?
Till a frew minutes ago I hoped for a Red/black option like the soloist carbon. Now I have a question. Is it difficult/expensive to re-paint the 3 silver sections of the Red/Silver P2C into black (the black of the soloist or the 3T funda fork)?
i don’t get what cervelo’s deal is with silver.
i don’t think it works on bikes, though that’s just my opinion.
I still prefer my 2008 design.
They did a poor job for 2009
Note on this photo: I used fill flash and appropriate color temperature settings on my camera to shoot this, and then saturated the color slightly in photoshop to produce a more accurate rendition of the color than I’ve seen elsewhere on the web for this bike color.
In my opinion Cervelo did not do an adequate job of depicting the actual colors on their website. The P2 Dura Ace photo is not representative of the metallic silver or of the red color. They appear very different to me in person than on the website. My reaction to the website is, “…blah” Whereas my reaction to the bike when I saw it in person was. “…Oh! That is a big improovment over the previous color scheme.” Now, given, you have to temper my opinion with the fact that I am seeing the bikes every day, so a new scheme provides some welcome aesthetic relief to me.
I don’t really like the look of either. I didn’t mind the 08 in white, not so much in the grey. The best paint job they ever have done on a bike IMO was the original P2C. I bought it when they carried it over as an option for 07. I have no idea why they stopped that combo.
Any idea what the color of just the frameset will be in 2009? I thought I had heard that they were still going to offer the 2008 white frame into 2009, but that could be wrong?

I do like the paint job of the S2 with Black en Red.
I will contact a local painter to ask if he can paint the P2 silver parts into black (the same black as on the S2).

It seems like the silver/red option will be the frameset option as well as the Dura-Ace build option.
I’d be curious to find if they were planning to have some of last year’s color option available as a frameset as well though. Can anyone confirm?
I just saw the Red/Silver at a LBS, and thought it wasn’t bad. I agree with the earlier poster that it’s better in person than on the cervello website, although I still MUCH prefer the 2008’s red/white scheme. Not sure why thy gave up the great red/white Canadian colors…
I love my ‘canadian’ version from 2007…working on putting her on a DIET right now though.
