Lots of you over the past few months have asked me for a rear storage box solution for the Cervelo P2/P3. I kept saying that the rear brake is in the way. It turns out that one of my recent new cycling friends has a 54 P3, I was looking at the rear of his frame, and started thinking about the rear box for it again and decided to take some measurements off of it.
Below is the preliminary design for it. Note that it sticks up a bit above the seat clamp so that there is a bit of extra room for storage. On a 56 and 58 this will not be necessary.
I currently only have access to the 54. But am planning on finding a 51, 56 and 58 bike to measure.
Would there be any clearance issues when using a dual bottle holder in the back like a turbo wing? How many cm does the box stick above the mounting point?I have a 54 and am VERY interested in this
I assume this is the new (post 2013) P2/P3 - any idea if it will work with the classic P3C? Mine is 2012 model, size 56. The back end of the frame looks very similar.

What do you project being able to fit in the box? I know it won’t be as big as the BB box, but just want to see how I’d split my flat kit
You’ll be able to fit a tube, co2 cartridge, inflator, tire levers. You may be able to fit a bit more in there. I won’t know until I’ve actually printed the box out which I am hoping to do today or tomorrow.
Any word on how much you could fit in a box for a 54cm?
I’m still trying to get my 3d printer working, so I haven’t been able to print the prototype. But I compared the 3d model of the p3 54 box to that of the 3d model of the p5 54 box. and they are close in size. Which means that it will store a tube, tire levers, co2 cartridge and inflator and small multitool.
Finally got my 3d printer working this past weekend and was able to print a prototype for a p3 54cm. Did have to extend the top of the box above the clamp otherwise there just won’t be enough room to store anything.
Made some changes to the prototype this morning and started a new print. Should hopefully have the box for the 54 finalized.
Also looking for owners of 56cm and 58cm p2/p3 in San Francisco Bay Area, if in Marin county, even better. Need to take some measurements off 56 and 58 frame. I would offer you the resulting box at significant discount.
