Cervelo p series update

There is a thread on here about cervelo stock shortages but I am curious about an update to the p series specifically. Shouldn’t there be a new annual color scheme with little updates by this time? There aren’t even any pictures are updates online of anything new inbound. Does anyone have an inside at cervelo who can shed some light on this? I would like new p series when they are available but was hoping for some new options to choose from.

I have a huge issue with my Cervelo P Series. The piece that holds the left elbow pad has now broken three times in three years. It breaks right where the horizontal piece screws into the handlebar. This seems to be a serious design flaw and I wonder if others are seeing this. Questions.

  • Any solutions to this other than just keep replacing it? Is there an upgraded piece?

  • Has anyone installed a different aerobar setup on the bike? I wonder how it would work with the electric shifters at the end of the aero bars.

Bike is in the show because latest installed piece broke again today. Thanks.

My P-Series Disc originally came with Zipp base bars and extensions. I doubt Cervelo make your arm rests, it’s probably Zipp or Profile Design? That’s who your beef should be with. Anyways, I replaced my stock setup with a 51 Speedshop setup. Pretty happy with it for the past two years but I wish I could get some more tilt out of it. If I had to do it again I think I’d go with the Vision Metron TFA setup. Both are pretty friendly with electronic shifting as well.

Is it the one with the Vision aerobar and armpads?
Those armpad holders have been under a recall.

Jeroen

We have no recalls on Vision products at this time.

Playtri have pics of the new Deep Blue Sunset colour

The other colour option stays as black
.

I’m guessing you have the Vision SI-013 bars?
You could change the extensions to the TFE Pro as they would replace the problem area.

Or change out the bars entirely - the shifters are no problem to fit on to other models.

Yes they are the stock Vision bars that came with the bike. The left one has broken and been replaced three times. Looking for something better for sure. Design flaw I think.

Do you know if this is a new P5 color for 2023?

Also interesting they are offering Reynolds wheels as stock this year.

That might be new for the P5 but my 2020 P-Series is that color. Very easy to spot in transition!

this deep blue seems to be really nice, but I prefer black.
Retruning on the quesiton posted from Hammernuts: It’s about 1 year (yes year) that I try to find everywhere a p-series here in europe. I live in Switzerland and I have great connection also in Italy and Germany.
No way. P-series never delivered.
I started searching for a black ultegra di-2, but now I can really accept any other combination of colour or gears if I would find my size.
asked to the Italian importer: now way to have one.
in switzerland some official dealrs gave me hope, but months pass and nothing happens.
do any of you reader have some news about Cervelo production or possible problem in delivery-supply chain?

I’m stil using a lovely and perfect P2 from 2017, a lovely bike and P-series is something that fit me perfectly about geometry, cost and … feeling
I would really avoid to import it from USA or even Australia, due to high costs and risk of tranpsortation (and I guess lack of guarantee)
kind of hopeles…

Availability in the UK is still.near zero it seems.
Sigma Sports as an example- a grand total on 1 cervelo tri / TT bike - a P series Ultegra, in midget 51cm size.
Oh and still has POS nasty wheels on it for £4.5k.

Unfortunate, there is no expectation of cervelo tri bikes until late this summer/fall.

Jeroen

Interesting, because we did get a whole bunch of replacement armpad holder plates on the carbon vision trimax bar that came with the 2018/19 p-series bikes. The first p-series in white/grey/black and the yellow/black/pinkish.
With an letter to please contact our customers to let them come in and replace the original parts for the new.]
This was in summer 19 or 20, don’t know for sure.

thank you for your sight, appreciated (but sill sad about it and really can’t understand reasons)

We’re not getting complete P-series bikes in Aus/NZ until August at best and in very limited numbers.
I don’t know whether it’s poor forecasting of demand, or messing up their Shimano order but the impact is no bike availability.

The only thing this bike is missing for me is internal front brake routing similar to what is on the soloist.

I really like the new xpr though

Actually the second gen P-Series has internal routing as an option like the Soloist. My wife’s 2021 frame had the cable coming out the side, but the 2022 frame I build for my friend could be run all internal.

Internal cable could be done from the very first P-series since the fork doesn’t have a fixed route. It is hollow and you can let it exit through the headset expander and than through the stem and in the bar (with the right stem and bar).

Good to know!
