Quick question to the very knowledgeable (and large) stable of Slowtwitch Cervelo owners. My new Cervelo Dual 10 is making a fairly loud creaking sound from the bottom bracket area. Have any of you Dual owners out there experienced this, and what did you do to fix it? Dealer has already tightened the crank, and lubed the bottom of the aero seatpost. Other than the extraneous sounds, the bike rocks!!
I had the same thing on my 2003 Dual. People on this board suggested that it was mor likely my seatpost. It came and went a few times. I never figured it out. But it never affected performance. Sorry not more help. You might search for that string - maybe a year or a year and a half ago?

gf has a 2003 dual and it started making a similar noise. thought for sure it was down in the BB/crank area. turned out to be the seatpost. i’d have someone take a quick look at it–seemed like an easy fix. damn that bike is sweet.
Good news/bad news. I had the same problem on my '04 Dual. Does yours make the sound when seated or standing or both? My “creek” was more noticeable when climbing or pushing a big gear. My LBS lubed the bike from head to toe. Took the cranks, seat post and BB out - lubed - and re-installed… no dice. They said that I might just have to “ignore it”?? Recently upgraded to compact cranks including a new BB - no noise at all. I would start with the BB and go from there.
have a P2 and Soloist - also check the seat post and seat bolt. Do a search on this forum - a while ago I gave some a very long explanation of adjusting the seat bolt so as to not creak and cause too much strain on the bolt (which is part of the creaking problem)
Apply pressure to the front and rear of your seat from above–rock it back and forth, I bet it will squeak.Tighten the crap out of the seat clamp. Rock it back and forth and tighten again. A huge percentage of the time this is it.
I had the same problem with my P3— My creaking was the bottom bracket. I removed it, cleaned everything, lubed the threads with grease, then reinstalled. (Campy specifies using loctite and not grease, but with Loctite it still creaked.) It’s been quite as a mouse since then, although I had to re-tighten my BB about two weeks after I first fixed the creaking problem. If it comes loose again I’ll loctite it and deal with the creaking.
