I have a Soloist in need of a new front derailleur cable. Would a non-Cervelo LBS be able to do this? Will it feed easily through the downtube or is there a “trick”? No Cervelo dealer within 1000 miles. Thanks.
It’s very easy to do. I even do my own, so your LBS will have no problem.
Ditto to what cerveloguy said…I’ve done the cables on my P2K myself, so it can’t be too difficult to do!
Yes, this is what you do. you pull the old cable out, then you feed the new cable through. simple as that, no magic. Just as long as your bike is relatively level (i.e. not upside down), it will work like a charm. No need to feed through a safety sleeve first, or any of that other nonsense.
Thanks for the help. Just wanted to be sure before attempting it. I wasn’t sure what was happening inside the downtube - you know, something that a guy at home in his garage doesn’t want to discover at midnight! Thanks, Mark.
