Cervelo S5 Team and Cannondale Synapse HI-MOD… where are they manufactured? (May play in to the buying decision is either is U.S.A.)
Also, with the Synapse, is the seatpost able to be flipped around for a more forward position with aerobars?

Neither made in USA. Both made somewhere in Asia.
My LBS told me that all Cannodale’s are now produced in Asia. I think it’s been 1 or 2 yrs.
Cervelo is a Canadian company, with engineering offices in the USA but the bikes are made in asia.
exception: the r5ca was made in california I believe, some of the other uber models may be as well, but not the s5 team or p3 or p4

Did you ever see the mockumentary where a team of Canadians interviewed people in Hollywood asking if they were aware of Canada taking over the movie industry?
Hilarious. They’d interview American actors etc, and then point out all the Canandians working in Hollywood. It came across like a real documentary. Funny as hell.
And don’t forget, Canada is the only country to successfully invade the US. We chased the dirty Yanks all the way back to DC, then occupied the Whitehouse, and then buggered off in time to bring in the fall harvest. (true story! happened back in 1812 I think it was. The Yanks got sprung when a little girl picking flowers in the woods (Laura Secord was her name) spotted the sneaky Americans slinking through the woods. She ran to tell her father who in turn warned the soldiers at the local Fort. They got ready, and chased the invaders all the way back to DC. Now it’s Canadas turn to take over Hollywood and now, the cycle industry.

You’re safe. Neither are made in the USA and so both are made in hi-tech factories by a well paid workforce with lots of experience and skill in working with hi-mod carbon fiber.
The 2012 Synapse comes with a removeable seatpost head, you can get either a setback or zero offset head, but it cannot be “flipped” as far as I know. The 2011 seatpost had a fixed offset.
If you want a road bike where you can flip the seatpost around for aerobar use then I would suggest the Cervelo S2 or S5.
