I have a 2012 Cervelo P2 with SRM FSA Gossamer Cranks (the bike came with FSA Gossamer Cranks). I am buying a Specialized Shiv that comes with FSA Gossamer Cranks and the Specs say BB30. I think the Cervelo has a BB30 Bracket but I am not certain…does anyone know? I was hoping I could take the SRM off my cervelo and stick it on the Shiv.
Cervelo does not use a BB30, but you can probably get an adapter on the specialized to make it work.

Thanks. What does Cervelo use?
I believe the p2 has a Gxp bottom bracket. For the shiv, you’ll need an adapter for their bottom bracket. Pretty easy to get (think competitive cyclist has them).
The P1, P2, P3, and P4 use a good-old-normal-english-threaded BSA-68 bottom bracket. The P5s use Cervelo’s BBright bottom bracket. The Shiv uses a PressFit/BB30 style bottom bracket.
Ultimately, you’d be using a reducer/adapter made by Enduro or Wheels MFG. Unfortunately, I am fairly certain you won’t be able to use the crank of the Shiv on the Cervelo (in case you had that in mind).

its a external bottom bracket style (bearing on the outside of the frame). BB30 has them on the inside of the frame.
Cool…thanks. I am not using the specialized cranks on the cervelo…just want to be able to use my srm that was on the cervelo, on the shiv…which it sounds like I can with an adaptor.
I am looking at specs online, happen to know if a P2 size 56 is most like a M or L in the Shiv? I am going to get with my fitter, but sort of curious which one it will end up being.
I am struggling with the BB stuff too. I am new to tri builds and am currently working on a buildup for a 2016 P3 frame. ATC, I think I just snagged the OEM stem and 3t bars from you!
I am doing a 1X SRAM Force build. What I can’t tell is what BB I need, non press fit. I wanted to stay away from the press fit stuff just from some of the bad press the BBright gets on this forum…or is that too a mistake?
If I’m looking at a threaded option I guess I’m looking for some advice on what to get.
I heard good things about the Praxis BB https://www.praxiscycles.com/product/conv-bb-sramgxp-isis-2/ but that’s still a press fit option. Wheels Mft. makes the PF30 threaded version.
Being new to this the options are overwhelming!
I am pretty sure that your frame is BBright.

As the previous poster mentioned, you need a BBRight PF bottom bracket. Praxis does not currently offer one. BBRight is basically an extended PF30 BB. So you’ll be using some form of PF bottom bracket no matter which manufacturer you choose. Even the threaded PF BBs require one side to be pressed in before you use the required wrench to tighten the other side.
SRAM crankset offerings are typically GXP dimensions which means 24mm crank spindle with 22mm dia at NDS end. You can address this by using a 30mm BB option with 24/22mm adapters or you can get a conversion bottom bracket that uses 24/22mm bearings w/o the need for adapters.

If it’s in your budget I would contact the CeramicSpeed guys and see what they can do. They have a wide range of BB’s, and I would assume they have something that will work for you.
Wheels manufacturing in quite nice option, uses Enduro bearings, from memory it’s the BBRight Out 7, 9, or 11 models!

Can’t avoid pressfilt.
I have a wheels manufacturing BB and it’s different from traditional BBright/PF bearings in that the two sides thread into each other, getting you as close to threaded as you can get.
Thanks everyone. I have some good leads now.
