Cervelo aerobottle

Hello!
Has anyone tried a cervelo aerobottle 500 on an Cervelo NP3 size 56? Curios on how or if it would fit.

Didn’t fit well on my 2013 P3, same size frame, bottle cage was wider than down tube trailing edge. Returned it.

The bottle is also terrible; cheap plastic crap that is hard to hold because it’s slippery a hard to squeeze. Blows me mind that a Company that does so much right with its bike can’t design a simple, effective bottle.

Ok, thanks. Will look into some other bottle instead

Two good options…Elite Chrono looks great, probably very aero but not great reviews as a usable bottle or Xlab TT bottle which looks decent, probably fairly aero and very user-friendly
.

Got the bottle, very aero but like others said hard to drink also a pain to saddle it after drinking. Also if you lose the bottle you have to buy the whole set 50 bones. I cut the bottom and made a flat kit but wanted a bottle on downtube. Elite cronos works great.

Any chance someone could measure the width of the cage/bottle for the cervelo aerobottle?

Local multi-sport store had a P3 with one on it - i think they come standard with it now. I checked it out since I almost ordered one for my P3. As others have posted, the bottle looks really good, fits well to the frame but is not that great. It doesn’t pop in or out of the cage very easily. I ended up squeezing it near the top where the cage grips it and it deformed the bottle. It did recover its shape but I think after continued use the bottle shape would deteriorate and need to be replaced much sooner than most bottles would. I went with the Xlab Aero TT bottle, the replacements are only $20 on amazon, the plastic is more robust and the bottle has a pebbled surface to help you hang on to it. It’s also available in clear or black colors.

Gave it a shot: the cage is slightly tapered - measured from the back, it’s about 35mm wide at the top, and about 40mm at the bottom. Top of the bottle and lid that extend past the cage is slightly more narrow, down to about 30mm before the spout.

Opposite the cage, the bottle tapers to about 12-14mm at the narrowest. Can try to get more detailed, but not sure how exact I can get w/ my tape measure.

Little too wide for my frame / might be looking to get rid of it (unused, except for a few scratches taking it on and off) if you’re interested.

Much appreciated! Yeah I think I may want to try it!

Thats gonna be tough to put on your Omni. Something new in the works?

Ha. Nope! I am going to play with it but I’ve got a friend who was looking for something with more volume than the Elite bottle. I did adopt Adam’s strategy of running one on the top tube in front of the seatpost though.

Actually, if you know how to use it right, it’s a great aero bottle. Kienle and Frodo have them on their bikes.
You have to squeeze it gently when you take it out and put it back on otherwise you will have a hard time.
I put water with Tailwind there for nutrition and it’s been working great.

I know how to pull a bottle in/out, although I’ve also held the bottle and find it a little “slippery”. I was referring more to (1) small capacity; and (2) the many review about spillage.

Cervelo bottle is even worse. It’s really slippery. At least Elite Crono bottle has dimples, so it’s a little better.
That’s why I use it for concentrated Tailwind or Nuun tablets during the race.
It doesn’t work well just for hydration.

Agreed on Cervelo bottle being worse. Xlab bottle is better material and construction than both but doesn’t look quite as nice at least in my opinion.

How have some of you modified the bottle to use as a flat kit? I took mine off my P-Series but I’m considering converting it to storage.

I was searching for this exact thing. Anyone care to post pics of their aerobottles modified for storage?

See my picture here.

Very cool. I’m going to go that route. Thanks!
