A UFO chain saves between 2-5 watts, but that’s over a ‘regular’ chain… but how many watts would it save over a waxed chain? Obviously a good quality chain(kmc x11sl) that I wax at home. I’m looking for race day chain for next season
The savings is about 0.1W-0.2W (assuming that your chain was fully cleaned and properly waxed).
The advantages of a ceramic speed chain is that they do all that work for you, and their wax includes Teflon (PTFE), which is why it does slightly better.
Check out the Premier Optimized Chain as a somewhat middle road from Ceramic Speed.

What do you mean by middle of the road?

Sorry - meant middle of the road price wise. Premier chain + their lube is ~$150ish vs Ceramic Speed which is $200+ for chain and lube.
I’m going to rock a Premier Chain for racing this year to give it a go.
