CDA water Temp up on Triathlete

I am fine with anything above 56 degrees as I open water swim locally in NorCal pretty much 365, but that gauge is submerged a few feet down and therefore will actually read colder than what the surface temp will be. I think someone posted a fishing report that showed surface temp is current 61.

What is more important is:

Looks like similar conditions to last year. It rained on Saturday but the course was nice and dry by the time we got on the bikes. A nice cloud cover the whole day too! I’ll stay optimistic for now but that bike course will be a little challenging if the roads are wet. Lots of up an down and sharp turns.

yea-last year was perfect conditions-hoping for that same cloudcover…

There’s the link for the fishing trend. Not sure where the reading is located though.

Not that it really matters (it seems pretty clear we’ll be swimming in water that’s around 60), but that fishing website figure is pretty flimsy. The site explains: "Fishingnotes.com has developed a highly accurate and sophisticated water temperature modeling algorithm to determine the mean daily water temperature based on climatic and geophysical data for this lake … the accuracy of the estimated mean water temperature is within 4 degrees Fahrenheit of measured temperature value in approximately 90% of our lakes.

First race day predictions are up on the 10 day forecast at weather.com. Damn that is about a perfect race weather as I have seen yet!

ast year the water temperature rose 5 degrees between Tuesday and race day—so don’t despair, it may be 65 on race day–bath water by comparison
