Cavic = pwned

Phelps schooled his ass, and shut his big mouth. Lesson time Milo boy, lesson time.

Sort of like Contador and Lance, eh?

I love how Phelps responds to a challenge. He silently broods and let’s his swimming talk for him. The celebration at the end where he tugged on the suit and pounded his chest? AWESOME! I love the reports where Cavic tried to say that Phelps didn’t even hear him afterwards when he went to congratualte him. No shit, really? He stopped listening to you a while ago bro. Good too that his only doping conviction was reefer! (that’s my favorite part!)

“Do your talking with your legs.”
-Mark Wetmore to the CU XC team, and my personal motto.

you got it wrong, andrea kremer asked phelps what cavic said to him after the race and phelps said “I have no clue, I was zoned out.”
cavic was a very graceful loser and anyone that doesnt realize all the stuff he said prerace was to hype the sport of swimming and draw some attention to it is a moron.

Absolutely agree. It’s amazing how so many just believe what they want while ignoring what really happened.

Cavic was very gracious.

hehehe
.

yep, cavic’s a smart kid. and look how much attention he brought to the sport. if you think he didn’t know exactly what he was doing, you don’t get it. 49.9, under the old world record, losing by a tenth is totally “pwned”…

Cavic was very gracious.

But Phelps was NOT. This kid’s starting to piss me off. If he doesn’t win, he blows of the winner, and when he wins a highly touted race, he blows of the winner.

Phelps is surposed to be a role model to young kids…

Ahhhh, the irony.

**Ahhhh, the irony. **

Are you STILL upset about Lance?

  1. What do I have to be upset about? Watching him finish on the podium after such a long layoff and playing the consumate teammate after acknowledging he wasn’t the strongest on his team, I see nothing for me to be upset about.

  2. Thanks for providing an excellent example of the irony I was talking about.

  1. Watching him finish on the podium after such a long layoff and playing the total dickhead teammate.
    agreed.

It’s just a shame that Phelps won when everything the other guy said was correct. The speedo’s are slower than the other suits (or Phelps has to stop whining about getting spanked in the 200), so he should wear whatever suit he wants, but it is classless and misleading to complain about the suits afterwards when they were available to everyone.

I agree!! Whiner Phelps! Look at this quote after the 200! I keep looking for quotes about him whining about the suit, but I can’t find it. It must be out there though, Slowtwitch has convinced me.

"“Deep down inside, I can’t be mad,” said Phelps, who looked exactly that way immediately after the loss. “I can’t be disappointed. Paul swam a great race. He split that 200 free pretty much perfect. I didn’t have anything in the last 50. And when he pulled away from me, I kind of got left pretty quick.”

Phelps was asked the obvious question: Was he beaten by the man or the suit?

“The swimmer,” said Phelps, who is almost old-school in still wearing Speedo’s LZR Racer."

Get real, Cavic was whining about saying he won the race in Bejing, just that he soft touched the wall. Not correct at all, slightly moronoic actually. Don’t hate cause you can’t duplicate.

Not at all. Every time my kids see him in the news they make jokes regarding his incident with marijuana. It seems as if they don’t respect him anymore as a person and as an athlete. He is now to them more a stupid person and a drug user than a top athlete. Sad.

Sergio

that IS sad
why don’t you educate your kids better than that?

You mean they should respect Phelps for smoking marijuana? Yes, maybe they should not refer to him as a stupid person, that is clearly politically incorrect, but that is how they feel. Should they think he is smart guy for smoking marijuana?

I am sorry if my comment offended you, but my family does not view illegal drug using as a minor thing.

Sergio

No, they should respect him Despite it.

They are fine to call him stupid, he might be, his job is swimming. I doubt he is especially smart. Probably
average or slightly above.

I just think you must not be well informed to make such a big deal out of marijuana use. That or you have a deep, powerful respect for the rule of law, even when the law doesn’t make sense.

Simply put, people smarter than you, harder working than you, kinder than you, and more fit than you, exist who smoke weed on occasion. Many of them. More than you know. Lots of doctors even!

As such, coming to an instant judgment on someones overall personality or work ethic or intelligence because of this choice, is irrational. You would simply be wrong!

Sure, its not a healthy or productive activity but neither is a cup of coffee or the occasional beer. Its an indulgence and one that isn’t that big of a deal.
