Anyone have any experienece with these Cateye Strada computers…with and without cadence function?
I have a Cateye Strada wireless (no cadence) that was on my original road bike that I’ve moved over to my Tri bike. I also have a Cateye V3 (with cadence and hr) on my new road bike. I’ve found them to be very reliable and easy to use.
Thanks for your input. Makes it an easier choice when you have an evaluation of the equipment.
i have one & love it.
no issues at all w/ batteries, dropped signals, etc…
great buy, i think i was able to get it on ebay reasonable
Anyone have any experienece with these Cateye Strada computers…with and without cadence function?
Mine (without Cadence) is flawless. Distance is dead on accurate, battery lasts a long time and the display is easy to use and easy to read. Go for it.
I haven’t had a problem with mine, probably one of the easier cycle computers to use. Two things:
-The magnet isn’t the greatest, so you either have to align the sensor *very *close to the magnet, or get a stronger magnet.
-Also, its a little awkward to mount the wireless sensor on the front of the 3T fork. The sensor has a sort of rounded bar that you attach the zip ties to, and it just doesn’t sit well against the bladed fork. It takes a bit of fine tuning when you’re cinching up the zip ties so the sensor doesn’t move into the path of your rotating wheel, which would be bad…
I’ve got the basic, no cadence. I like it simple, less to fret over or go wrong. Easy to read, reliable, inexpensive… no complaints other than maybe the fork unit “foot” doesn’t sit super flush on a thinly-bladed fork, but well enough considering it shouldn’t be under any major force.
I have two Strada wireless computers with cadence, one on my road bike and one on my tri bike. I love them. Very easy to set up, easy to use, easy to read on the road and economical.
Add me to the list - Strada, wireless, no cadence…no problem. Simple, accurate, quick set-up…mine has been perfect thus far.
what fields can you display on the screen at once? i would like to have time, distance, cadence and speed on there at once, or at least speed and cadence/time and cadence. can you customize the display at all?
These are great and I like mine, just DO NOT throw out the manual. It is not intuitive
Speed is always up and clock, distance1, distance2, avg. speed, max speed, odometer and time can be scrolled through one at a time. As far as I know you cannot customize it.
I’ve got the cateye strada double wireless with cadence on my P3 for about 8 months now, and I have been very happy with it thus far. It keeps its signal and is very accurate. The only minor issue I have with it is that I have to adjust the position of the sensor relative to my pedal, but it may just been an installation issue on my part. Would highly recommend it though.
Rescently switched from a Polar S150 HRM/cyclocomputer function to a Cateye Double Wireless with cadence on my road bike a few weeks ago. I usually keep the display on speed and cadence, as I’m trying to improve my spin for the upcoming track season, with the Polar on my wrist. So far, I love the Cateye. I’ll start intervals next week, so we’ll see how it goes with my gaze alternating between the Polar, Cateye, and the road…
