Cateye Double Wireless?

Anybody here have any experience with the Cateye. Seems to be a pretty good price ($100.00) for getting speed and cadence wireless. I am curious how easy it was to get working and if anybody has had any problems??

love it. no problems and very accurate.

if you do a search, there are lots of other posts regarding reviews of the product.

I think I am the only person who had problems. I never could get the cadence to work enough to be sure of it. I tried locating the receiving unit in every possible place for better reception. It now lays on the shelf collecting dust. I put the old Cateye wired Astrale back on, no more problems.

Aloha,

Larry

I like no wires. The only issue I have with mine is, It screws up my polar monitor if I were my watch on the same side the Cateye wireless device is on. If I switch arms with my watch no problems what so ever. I know that this seem a little silly but when you use to wearing your watch on a certain arm you forget about until you are riding then you half to stop to fix the issue.

I have the same problem…love the wireless, but my Polar can’t seem to be mounted on the bike, I have to wear it on my wrist for no interference…which is odd since I was told that would not be the case with this particular Cateye.

Mine has worked very well after playing with the magnet locations a little. It mounts very nicely between the aerobars (just can’t put my Profile water bottle there anymore). The cadence and lap features are nice to have.

No, you are not the only person - wife and I had problems with loss of sync with the speed/cadence sensor (would get speed or cadence but not both) as well as the computer would indicate that the battery was weak after incredibly short periods of time (10-minutes in some cases). Turns out there were some problems with the design of the battery holder/battery covers and you should be aware that if you bought one of these before, oh about February of this year, you are likley to have the orginal version which Cateye superseded with an improved version. The new version came with locktite on the screw that secures the head unit bracket to the handlebar mount as well as spings on the battery side of the battery covers on the head unit and the speed/cadence sensor. If your computer does not have the springs on the battery covers, spend $4.30 and send it Priority Mail (assumes you are in US) to Cateye and they will replace it at no charge (< 14 day turnaround):

Love it love it love it.

Screen could be easier to read, but it could be my eyes.

Loved it from day 1. No problems so far

I have had no problems with it, but cateyes are the most illogically set up computers ever.

I heard a rumor about a company who was going to do a triple wireless - cadence/HR/speed - but i forget who it was or the validity of that claim.

No problems with mine. I really like having all the important info on screen at once, no pushing button to scroll thru (usually too far) just to see your distance, etc.

Mine works great as well - I have mine between the aerobars AND the profile drink holder with no problems

I’m using Carbon Xs
.

Thumbs up! No problems.

You are probably referring to Polar’s new triple wireless CS200cad HRM/Cycle computer (http://www.polarusa.com/Products/cs/cs200cad.asp?cat=consumer):

Also, last year Cateye was putting out a lot of marketing hype for a CC-100 cycle computer that combined Cadence, speed, and heart rate. It used the same display unit as the double wireless but was to have incorporated wired speed and cadence sensors. When Interbike rolled around, although that model was listed in the product section of Cateye’s website, when I looked for that model at the Cateye booth, it was no where to be seen and even after a couple e-mails to Cateye, the company has since removed all refences and content for the CC-100.

I got one about 2 months ago, I’ve had no problems with interference with my Polar 720. I’ve got the computer mounted on my stem through the use of the profile mount and the cateye mount, this way I can still use my aero drink. The unit is great, but yeah, it’s a little hard to see the #s on the screen some time, this is also due to the poor angle I have it mounted at (I have to take my eyes off the road).

While on the topic, does anyone know how to reset the trip odometer? I’m lazy and haven’t fumbled through the instructions.

Thanks.

Good, great, sorted, love it.
