Catching up with Beer Mile World Record Holder & New Triathlete Corey Bellemore

Fun one for folks to begin their weekend with. Beer Mile World Record Holder Corey Bellemore debuted at 70.3 Chattanooga last weekend. He finished 6th overall in the AG race with a 4:10:53 (26:52 swim/2:22:08 bike/1:16:07 run). We chatted about the beer mile, his training, the race, and so much more! He actually joined fellow Canadian, Lionel Sanders, in Kona in 2018 to help with his final preparations. That experience planted the seeds for one day dipping his toes into triathlon racing. His interview answers were very relatable. Even as a high caliber runner, there is so much you don’t know heading into your first triathlon race. It can be enough to get someone to not even participate but Corey took on Chattanooga with an open mind & willingness to learn what he didn’t know. The end result was a really solid age group result & a time that shows pro field promise if he wants to dedicate some time improving his bike. Corey will be competing in the Beer Mile World Classic this summer but is eager to hop into another triathlon. He walks through how he can chug 4 beers & run 4 laps of the track in 4 minutes 28 seconds. Seriously impressive stuff, although he wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. He is also confident that he can take down Joe Skipper at one of his post-IRONMAN beer miles. (friendly) Shots fired. Enjoy!
