I bought a new Ultegra cassette and the spacers are plastic. Any issue with this? In the past they have always been aluminum.

Nope. I’ve had plenty of cassettes with plastic spacers. They’re fine.
No problems here either
.
I’ve bought the cassette tool in 2006, and all the cassettes I’ve dealt with ever since, had plastic spacers

I’m disappointed in you. I figured you’d point out the cassette - TOOL.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen an aluminium one!

Not sure if it is across the board, but i think my Sram cassettes have aluminum (silver) spacers and my shimano cassettes have plastic (black) spacers.

Good call
I’m more the Dead Kennedys type
FWIW: The man who invented the cassette tape ALSO invented the Compact Disc: Lou Ottens

nope, it’s not.
my shimano cassettes have alu ones (still on 9s). My SRAM cassette (I just have one at the moment) is plastic. I’m fairly sure that when I was on Campy 9s (I switched to Shimano about 20 yrs ago) my campy cassettes had plastic spacers.
Cool
Thx everyone
