Carbonzone Mountain bike frames?

Is there something similar to the carbonzone road/tt frames like a “Chinese-pop-out-Mountain-Bike-Frame” out there?

I have built some of the “ebay-carbone-zone-tt-bikes” with microshift for friends, but I have yet to come across a ‘non-branded’ mountain bike (hard tail) with no shocks.

thanks

They’re all over ebay. Out of curiosity, how did the cabonzon/microshift bikes come out and what did you end up spending on them?

Do you have a link for where you saw carbonzone mountain bikes?

the only one i built for myself was a “cyclo-cross-thingy” and i used microshift white (pearl white frame, white wheels, white headset, white neck, pearl white bars, white saddle etc.) I have a picture of it, but I am not on my home computer at the moment. I spent $525 but that was not including the frame. I used an old steel road frame and welded some modifications to fit a thicker tire. and I painted some old road wheels that are staying pretty true (in my area, you can ride a road bike on the trails because they are flat-hard-packed-sand.)

anyways, i coach about 10 high school athletes (Bethany Beach Delaware area) all of whom I coached on a high school swim team. 3 of them bought ebay-bikes with microshift. The cheapest I saw complete was $925 but with shitty used-wheels. The other 2 built their bikes with 80mm (?) carbonzone wheels, microshift-white, and tt frames for about $1400. Most of the stuff they found on sale and none of which was in used condition. I may have thrown in a headset or neck if I had one lying around. The bikes are all solid and holding up very well. I built all 3 and never had one issue. After they were built I had a friend tune up the gears to perfection. Microshift is not as easy to work with as sram, but I think it’s comparable to 105/ultegra. Every race that these kids enter, people just hound their bikes. People are interested in finding out if they are “as fast.” My kids don’t care and I don’t think they will be pro’s. they like to race, their bikes look cool and they win their age groups. That’s why 99% of people get into triathlon.

They may not be the carbonzone “brand” - if there is such a thing - but they probably all come from the same factory anyway. I’d be curious to see some pics of the build. Did you buy the microshift as a complete set or in pieces?

complete set. purchased, shipped, and built in under 10 days. i just couldn’t shift my gears at first (i built it with very limited experience). my bike tech (2 hours away) easily fixed the issue (too much exposed cable?) in about 5 minutes of work. i will definatley buy microSHIFT again. i like the new carbon set they have out but its almost double the amount…

i currectly race sram red on my TT, and ultegra on my road. ms/white is as good as both but it does have a loud POP/Knock to it. i heard that it goes away but I just don’t think about because where I live there are no hills…

I think due to celebration of the Chinese New Year, Carbonzone currently has nothing on offer on Ebay. You might want to check again at the end of the month. Alternately, you might take a look at DengFu bikes which has a pretty nice carbon hard tail 29er frame - FM056-29ER.
