Will a carbon seat post make a noticeable difference in comfort for Iron distance training? Noticeable the key word here.
Read somewhere that it makes very little difference because the compression properties of the two materials are not significantly different. Apparently a titanium post offers more of an improvement.
I haven’t noticed a difference. I replaced the stock aluminum seat post on my Bianchi with a Easton EC-70.
I put a FSA carbon on my kestrel and felt absolutely no difference.
How wide a tire and what tire pressure you run make much more different. I’ve ridden on carbon, Ti, and Al posts and couldn’t tell any difference compared to 5-10 psi less in my tires.
