Does anyone have any recommendations for a good carbon repair specialist in the Colorado area?
I got one quote from someone local that said it was not repairable and then another shop in NY that said they could do it - not sure whether I want to ship my bike or whether it’s just time for a new frame. The manufacturer could not do a full crash warranty but did offer a discount for a new frame.
Broken Carbon is the way to go. Former aerospace guys, they know what they are doing with a composite layup. They also accept the bike as is, you don’t have to tear it down to just a frame. I brought them a bike last year and couldn’t be happier.
I used Broken Carbon 9 years ago and it was an okay experience but I would rather not use them. I question their quality now that Brady Kappius has left the Boulder location. The current owner went on a dating reality tv show to promote the company last year and some sketchy shit has come out since.
If you get in a pinch, Calfee Designs could do it. They are known all over the country for their carbon repair. A friend snapped his Cervelo P2 & they fixed it like it never happened…repainted it, etc. Looked like new.
