Carbon question

I purchased a used Marin Treviso in the fall (with the fine help of our own eBay bike stalker, kentiger). Great bike, great deal, and it rides like a dream. The 2003 Treviso has carbon forks, and carbon seat/chain stays.

I’ve noticed that on one of the chain/BB carbon stays, a clear plastic topcoat seems to be wrinkled/bubbling…almost like a clear sticker peeling off. Knowing little to nothing about carbon bikes, is this anything to be concerned about?

Thanks.

It’s a typical and annoying attribute of carbon bikes with a glossy finish.

If the “bubble” pops, then put a little bit of crazy glue in that area, it will re-seal the carbon from the elemnts. But no, it’s nothing to be worried about.

This isn’t really a question about carbon, it’s a question about paint. I wager the clear coat is coming off.
