ok to use a carbon post on a ti frame or not a good idea?
should be fine. Ti and C aren’t supposed to react with each other.
The '06 Saber and Blade are both spec’ed with carbon aero seatposts.
I hope so or I have a big problem…
==================
thats good to hear. there have been some incidents here that the post is stuck and really hard to remove
Just don’t use any grease on the carbon post and you’ll be fine. I think that’s the mistake some people make and it can degrade the carbon, causing it to sieze inside the seattube.
that ill keep in check. there are times at my LBS that they put some grease on the al post to prevent from the Al post from seizing. so with carbon posts nothing at all and i
ll be good. thanks!
btw, on a different note, would ride quality be affected with a carbon post? that is i`m running size 23 tires already or its more aesthetic? my blade --older model is comfy already but just thought of using a carbon post to add more comfort so to speak
I feel there’s a noticeable difference in ride quality if you: a) buy a good carbon post (like an Easton) and; b) have a lot of post showing
.
I moved it last Friday after moving the seat forward and all was well. It had been in the same place for several months
====================
so that means the more post that`s showing will improve the ride. oh well…not a lot of post showing on my blade but it fits me like a glove.
I have no 1st-hand knowledge…but the “myth” that needs to be busted is regarding a round seat-post/seat-tube. These clamp different than the new fancy aeroposts…
