Read an article just the other day explaining that there is usually no difference in eye protection between cheap and expensive sunglasses. The article more or less states look for U/V protection rating, not the price. Some cheap sunglasses are every bit as effective as the most expensive ones.
That being true, there is no doubt still some idiot out there willing to pay $1375. for sunglasses.
Oakley makes M-frames with a carbon pattern. I like them.

That depends. One of the flimsiest sunglasses I ever owned was $200+ and I went thru three pairs in one year. I currently have a $130. set and a $30. set. I race/ride with the $30. set. They are much sturdier than my more expensive ones.
