Anyone try this stuff yet? Cant seem to find reviews anywhere.
600 cals per pouch. Can anyone think of a reason why I couldnt add a scoop or two of regular carbo pro to up the cals to about 800 in a single bottle?

Tried it on a 100+ mile ride and really liked it. Mild flavor and mixes easily, not syrupy or gritty. I split the pouch for two 300 calorie bottles. I had easy access to restock during the ride, so didn’t see the need to mix full strength. You’ll just need to experiment with the concentration. A whole pouch plus a couple scoops of Carbo Pro will look like a A LOT of powder and seem to leave little room for water.
I used for the first time today on a long ride (100 mi) liked it. Taste is ok, don’t remember what flavor seemed berryish. Used 1 pouch in a 24 oz bottle. Don’t know if the Hydra C5 was the cause, but I peed a ton on this ride. Felt like I was pulling off every 30 min. Was trying to drink a bit more water this ride because I have been getting super dehydrated lately. I also had to stop and get additional “gas station” fuel or Gatorade so that may have been the cause.
Just wanted to see if anyone else experienced more frequent urination using it.
Regular Carbopro is mostly, if entirely, maltodextrin, correct?
I see online $26 for a 3 lb tub.
A google search yielded me a 7 lb bag for $17 of maltodextrin. You can buy from brewery suppliers in 50 lb bags for super cheap.
It continues to amaze me what people pay for Carbo Pro.
i used carbo pro yesterday in an ironman - two 800 calorie bottles - i peed (while on the bike) no less than 12 times and these were strong pees - really messed up my shoes -this the first time ive used it for such a long ride but felt i needed the carbs - its was 90+ degrees so I took in a lot of water maybe too much - im going to discuss this with my urologist but dont think this is happenstance
.
I’m gonna relive an old thread.
Regarding Hydra C5, has anyone encountered the below issue? This is an email I just sent to Carbo-Pro customer service today.
"I recently started carrying Hydra C5 (watermelon) & Carbo Pro mixture in my 20 oz hand-held water bottle during runs. I do a 50/50 mix, 1.5 scoops of each for 300 calories total. I like the nutrition aspect, but while running, as I’m sipping the bottle, foam forms up in the bottle quite significantly (fully occupies the empty space in the bottle). So much so that often when trying to take a sip, I’m sipping straight foam and have to hold the bottle upside down vertical to get fluid only. Drinking foam (air) is forming burps. I’ve used carbo pro often in the past without the foaming issue, thus I assume its the Hydra C5 causing it.
Do you have any recommendations to reduce the foaming? Have you had other complain about this?
I was planning to use Carbo-pro with Hydra C5 during my half ironman race in 2 weeks, but won’t be able to if a foaming solution isn’t found. The foaming is too annoying and distracting to my nutrition to risk the race over.
I am open to any recommendation. Thank you."
Anyone having a similar issue? I’m carrying an Amphipod 20 oz hand-held bottle (here’s a link: http://www.amphipod.com/products/hydration/bottles-handhelds/handhelds/hydraform-handheld-pocket)
I haven’t tried this mixture in a bottle on the bike, but I suspect it would foam up due to road vibrations.
Probably wouldn’t happen on the bike. The bounce from running is significant, but a bike doesn’t bounce so much as it just vibrates some.
