Ok, I’m 6’1 and around 67-68kg, I think thats about 150lb in American money!
I have a Huub that I was given due to sponsorship, it’s size SMT.
But I am finding it is too stretchy for me, it lets too much water in, which collects around the lower back, legs etc.
I figured this was due to the size in terms of girth, it quotes a 72-82 on the size chart???
Yet, the SMT in the aegis the lower down suit quotes SMT as 59-68kg ?
That doesn’t seem to make any sense? That’s a massive difference. Surely your top end suit is likely to be worn by tall thin triathletes?
What about the pros sponsored by HUUB. surely some of them are my height and weight?
The problem is I think I like the HUUBs 3:5 distribution, but maybe this is negated by the water? I was thinking of just buying myself a Small Tall 2XU suit as that seems to fit my weight and height perfectly.
I’m your size and height, approximately. Slightly taller, slightly skinnier.
I considered Huub and Aquaman when I was looking for a wetsuit, but in the end went for Sailfish - their Small-Tall was the best fit at the time. They’ve since revised sizing and introduced the XS-Tall, which puts me smack in the middle of the weight-range. When my current one wears out, I’m sticking with them.
I’m 5’10, also 69kg and did not like the SMT either. It was tight enough but I felt restricted around the shoulders. Odd. Went for a Camaro which fits me perfectly and does not restrict my stroke at all.
I think I already have my answer from the above conversations, but wanted to check if there was any additional insight that anyone could add. I am female, but tall and thin (long limbs and def not a swimmers build), but Huub’s Women’s Med/Large has me at the top range of height and at the lower end of weight. The men’s Small/Tall, on the other hand, had me smack in the middle of both height and weight (5’11"/145). I have used the DeSoto two-piece for years, and quite happy with the fit (by going Size 4 bib, Size 3 top), but need a new suit and had the opportunity on a great deal with Huub. But now wondering if it is even worth it. (I have contacted Huub directly, btw, but they have not been particularly speedy/clear with a response). Any additional thoughts are appreciated…
I’m not sure about the Huub wetsuits, but if you’re willing to try a Roka… their Maverick Pro comes in a small extra tall or medium extra tall for women which fits the build you’re describing. I’m 5’9" and 135 lbs and always struggled to find a suit that was long enough in the torso and the Roka has been the answer.
