Canmore World Cup

Screw Dev (sorry dude). How’s Freebird doing? Vittoz winning?

Yeah, screw Dev, just post the friggin results…I just had my head buried deep in writing an article about wireless base station design until I came up for some ST/Ski smacktalk…this is more fun…back to talking about Turbo Decode Processor (hey, that could be the name of a new wax or ski pole…).

poor Devie gets no respect on ST :). well, the results are in, Freeman faded up still got points. i won’t say anymore.

trying to decide if I should do a brutally hilly 15K skate race tomorrow, or do 2 hour LT i- nterval brutality session on the bike…

There is only 1 answer…15K brutally hilly skate ski race…save the biking for when the snow melts…at this point in our lives can’t afford to waste the limited time we have relinquishing the option to train or race outside for indoor specific workouts on a trainer…who are we fooling, its not like we are winning world cups in any sport, so may as well get max enjoyment…

hmmm, i dunno if i would say i will “enjoy” this race tomorrow. i have been on skis only a few times this season, as the back is still not happy when i skate. that said, there is nothing quite like growing the frozen slobber / drooling “snotscicle” after 15K on skis.

the other issue is that the drive time to Bogus is a real drag. with the huge growth in Boise, there is always some idiot causing a wreck (usually a California transplant  on the road after snow has hit. last week, the road was closed for 3 friggin hours because of a crash, and people were stuck up there or in their cars for hours. there is only one road up there, Dev, it’s sort of like a mini Alpe du Huez, hairpin after hairpin, only Bogus is 16 miles and about 5%.

anyhow, i’m thinkin…

off to take Keene to the Vet, ripped off toenail in sub-zero trail romp the other day. gotta get my boy healthy to run. have a great weekend!

OK, I hear it on the convenience factor…training must be convenient or it is not happening…I do a lot of XC skiing 100m from my house on my own personal golf course loop that I pack down by skiing it in (The Dev Grooming machine). Its best when it only snows 5 cm at a time…its when we get a foot of snow that I am toast and spend the first 1 just packing down my loop…I have a few good hills and flats…worth the convenience…if not, rollers or running. I save the driving to skiing for the weekend.
