Damn, all the North Americans got smoked in the sprints. even Newell and Randall.
you think they’ll do better in longer events?
um, no! we are good at sprinting with the exception of Freebird. sort of shocked that Randall did not even qualify for the sprint heats, seeing she won the WC sprint in Russia a few weeks ago. Newell is red group (top 5) in the sprints and he did not even make it out of the heats. Koos had great qualifying time, 7th, then broke a pole in his heat! DAMN.
good for Renner, doing distance yesterday and sprint today for Canada after havin the baby.
Babikov got his Canadian citizenship few days ago, hope he celebrate it at his hometown!
Great picture:)

not many folks using Swix Force 10 poles - I thought sprinters would like it. Star CR-1 feels lighter and looks like they go for the weight
um, as an ex-Swix employee, and Force owner…it’s because they F’d up that pole so bad.
The handle is off set, with the goal to make it feel more natural with the newer, closer to the body, wide elbow, quick tempo poling motion…but it sucks!!!
Swix lost some serious dough on that project…
BTW…wanna buy a pair, cheap:-)
funny - I just got back from garage where I took off cork handlebar tape from my aerobar and taped it to the Force grips - I was using poles for a month and couldn’t get use to it, we’ll see tomorrow if that works ![]()
got mine for $275+20 shipping…
let me know if you want another pair…150.00

You can watch these races live online here: http://www.cbc.ca/sports/ the next race is Friday at 1:00 eastern.
It was very impressive watching the Norwegian men double the entire course (no grip wax, used skating equipment). That course is pretty tough, I can see being able to double pole the whole course, but to be able to do it faster than classic, through each of the rounds was impressive.
Most excellent news. I was on Eurosport yesterday trying to find out if it was being broadcast. THANK YOU for the info!
Sue
interesting, how long are this pair? paypal? shipping to Canada? I going to test my “new” grip and talk to you after…
they are 160cm.
I would do paypal, shipping to canada is possible…you pay:-)
did anybody get the “this video not available in your area” message?
Kurt
Yeah, guess it sucks to be American… I got that too. Bummer I was looking forward to seeing it.
Sue
Hey, it works for me! But I should actually be there - 45 minutes from my office, and I’m on a conference call.
OH man, sucks to be you! Pray no one asks you a question while you are glued to CBC!
Hope you plan on going down over the weekend and watching the sprints.
Sue
I just have to make sure to mute the sound before un-muting the phone, then blurt out “I agree”. Whatever it is they are blathering on about.
Sounds EXACTLY like my job! BTW, can you post any results, who has the lead now?
Dev would kill me if I posted results. Not all people are on course yet, 12 still waiting to start. French dude is in the lead at 11.7km.
