Cane Creek Wheels

Can anybody tell me about Cane Creek Crono Aero head wheels. They came on my new ‘used’ bike and i am just trying to get an idea on weather they are a very serviceable training wheel, racing wheel, or none of the above.

Although not considered a lightwegith wheelset, the Aeroheads are bomproof and very serviceable - provided you get a Cane Creek spoke wrench. We (wife and I) use them as training wheels on our time trial bikes and I think we both feel they are great wheels for the price.

bump from hell… Since I have the same wheels (you must not have noticed :)), here’s some info:

Basically they are standard LX cartridge-bearing based wheels (except for a cup and cone on the drive side). They felt much faster than the 36 spoke Mavic cxp-33s that came on the bike. I haven’t even had to true them in two years. There is supposed to be a specific spoke wrench, but a good bike shop should have one. My rear hub was a little tight when I bought them, but 1/8 of a turn on the nut got them turning much easier. They are standard 14 gauge straight pull spokes and standard bearings, so they should be pretty replaceable.

It’s a good thing I search for your posts…

i run them as my 'cross wheels…as do many folks here in NC (they’re local to us)
