My polar watch/HRM (S625x)band broke this week. It rubber finally ripped off at the connection area of the band. It was bound to happen as the watch is two years old and has seen many hours of training. Does anyone know if the band is replaceable or am I going to have to buy a new unit? This would suck since the electronics still work great but the $5.00 band ripped.
Yes you can. Just go to walmart or target and pick up a replacement band. All you need is a small flat screwdriver to pry off the spring loaded pins. Take the s625x with you so you can get the correct width band. Or you can also go to a place where they replace watch batteries and they can do it all for you.
Or if you want an original Polar band, it is possible to send it to an authorized Polar repair center and they will put a new one on (for a charge). I recently had the band of my RS800 break and got a new band installed for $15. Fortunately, one of the U.S. repair centers is near where I live, so I didn’t have to mail it and be without it for a week.
