I love my Vision cockpit setup except for the armrest pads. I like the feel of the Profile Design F-22 brackets/pads. Can I swap Profile Design F-22 armrest brackets/pads on the Vision risers? I know the bolts align “north/south” on the Vision armrests and “east/west” on the Profile Designs, but the F-22 hole pattern also could be used for a “north/south” setup if the spacing is the same as the Vision setup. Anyone have access to both to do some measurements? Also, will the riser angle of the Visions be a problem with the geometry of the Profile Design armrests?
You can put the PD armrests on Vision Alu. aerobars. I had a bolt hole strip out on one of my aerobars, so to get me through until I could either fix it or replace the aerobars, I threw on some PD armrests that I had in my garage. I couldn’t get them in the exact same position as the Vision armpads, but close enough (and comfortable neough) that I rode with them for about a month or so until I replaced my Vision aerobars.
I just re-read your question. I used the PD bracket to mount the pads; I didn’t use the bolt holes in the Vision aerobars.
Thanks! How was the geometry? I assume the bracket mounted on the aero bar just in front of the basebar?
Yes, I mounted the brackets in front of the base bar - as close as I could get them so that the pads weren’t too far forward. I still couldn’t get them back as far as the Visions, but close enough that I didn’t have any comfort issues. As far as geometry goes, the pads wound up at about the same height as my Visions.
