?
or will the 105 cranks have play
where the crank spindle will float around inside bottom bracket a little ?
Technically, yes, as both are 24-22taper. Realistically no due to tolerance. Rotor and Shimano are compatible, though
From past experience with a FSA P2M, fitting it into a Shimano BSA BB was TIGHT & I had to source a Mega Exo BB. I read afterwards that others also had a similar experience. Going the other way around I think it would be reasonable to assume that there would be some play. For the cost of a 105 BB, I think it’s worth it to just get the correct part.
I’ve fit an Vision TriMax Mego Exo to a Shimano 6700 bottom bracket ok before with no noticeable play. It worked but was a little snug (needed a mallet to get that thing out). A Rotor 3D (aka 3D24) fit a little snug on Mega Exo but I could install/remove without using a mallet.
On one of my bikes now I’m running a SRM FSA Gossamer and getting that to fit on a BBR60 (aka Ultegra/105 bottom bracket) was too snug. I damaged BB bearings getting that thing in and out. My solution was to sand paper the hell out of the spindle and now my cranks fit Shimano with no issues. First went over with 200 grit and then after I was done polished it a little with automotive 2000 grit stuff. To me the Mega Exo was not worth 4x the price that the Shimano’s are now. Heck, even the Dura Ace was 1/2 the price of a new Mega Exo (where I was able to find them).
No, and don’t. A $10 Hollowtech II BB will solve the problem

My answer would be “maybe it’d work but don’t do it”. Hollowtech II BB is one of the cheapest bike components. Buy it and use it instead. It comes pre-greased. Just thread it in. You’d need a BB wrench and the plastic wrench adaptor that comes with the Hollowtech II. 40Nm force if I remember correctly.
Edit: clean the frame real good before threading on the new BB. It’s probably full of grime in there.
i took fsa crank out
and tried putting shimano 105 cranks in fsa bottom bracket
and it has play.
so i wanted to know what i was doing wrong.

Does your FSA crank have pinch bolts on the left arm? The aluminum cranks with pinch bolts used the same width BB cups as Shimano, but the carbon cranks and newer aluminum cranks without pinch bolts use narrower cups. If you have the narrow cups, a Shimano crank will have a few mm of side-to-side play…
i will buy the hollowtech bottom bracket.
thank you
