Hey folks, I’m running SRAM 1x10 on my TT bike these days and have a compatibility question. My Fulcrum racing 7 wheels only take Shimano cassettes, no SRAM (weird, I know). Can I use a shimano MTB 11-32 cassette (i.e. Deore XT) with my SRAM Rival 1 RD, SRAM chain and SRAM R2C shifters? Of note the RD can take up to a 36 cog. Thanks!
If the shimano cassette is 10 speed, it should work perfectly with your SRAM drive train.
A SRAM cassette will also work. They use the same interface as Shimano cassettes.
so if I purchase a 110 or 111 SRAM rear mech and cranks / chain rung I can use it with a 10/11 speed Shimano cassette and Dura Ace lever correct - all parts are interchangeable
additional question - can I use a SRAM mountain bike rear mech and chain ring? is the only penalty weight?
Hat about this Dyna-Sys business I’m seeing with shimano MTB groups. Apparently not cross-compatible?
You can’t mix the levers and mechs. Basically there is a difference between SRAM double tap and Shimano STI in terms of how the mechanics work. In terms of mountain bike vs road rear mech a similar rule applies in that you need to make sure the shiftier has the right cable pull.

I think your question was about just using a shimano road, mtb, or dyna sys 10 speed cassette with your 10s sram drivetrain. That will work fine. Although I would also use a shimano 10s chain.
Are you asking another question?
If yes, could you clarify a bit?
Shimano says no because there is about a mm difference in cable pull. But lots of people say it works for them. Shimano does make a 11-32 rd cassette so just get that. Cs-6800 is one.

You’re talking about 11 speed cassettes while OP is asking about 10 speed cassettes. Thus, OP does not want an 11-32 CS-6800 cassette.
My bad he could go with CS-HG500-10 or SRAM PG1070, both come with 11-32
