Can I use a BB30 crank with BBRight bike

Getting a new cervelo which means bbright madness. Can I use my current BB30 crankset with the BBRIght system? Thanks.

What’s your current bb30 crank and which bike is it on?

It is a SRAM Red 22 (not the new etap) crank. It is currently on a Specialized Tarmac SL4 Pro (2013).

Does it have a removable spider or an integrated spider?

integrated
.

Can’t be used with BBRight, the spindle is too short

Look at the article, it shows that a true BB30 spindle is too short, some cranks are just labeled “BB30” but are actually BB386Evo compatible cranks which gives you the length you’d need for BBRight
.

Depends upon the crank. SRAM Red is a no (spindle is too short). Sram Force 22, Rotor, and FSA 386 EVO cranks will work. FSA also made some BBRight cranks. Rotor also makes BBs for BBRight frames that allow you to use GXP and Shimano Hollowtech without adapters.

Had a SRAM Force 22 fitted to my Cervelo NP2 (no issues). Like others have mentioned, you need the crank with the longer spindle.

Dude, I went through all of this madness. I had the guys at the shop losing their minds. We even ordered kits apparently with proper adapters and they didn’t work.

In the end, I found the SRAM Force 22 was the most versatile crank. It worked perfectly. Beyond that, it has a removable spider too, which allowed me to swap over my quarq to the Force 22.

I would have expected that crank to work. I run a Sram Red 22 GPX integrated crank in BBright with no probs.

GXP and BB30 axles are significanlty different from each other. GXP is a long and skinny (24mm). BB30 is shorter and fatter (30mm). GXP cranks are fairly universally compatible and BB30 cranks only fit the narrowest bottom bracket designs.

EVO386 is somewhat of a combination of both cranks, combining the 30mm axle diameter (stiffer/lighter) with the longer 86mm spindle of a GXP/Shimano standard.

Having said that, a standard shimano crank is equally compatible as EVO386.
