Can I remove decals from carbon components (not wheels)...?

Thinking of a stealth theme, so I wish to remove decals from carbon items such at the seatpost. Can I merely use fine grit sandpaper to remove the clear coat and decal, and then reapply a new clear coat? Any trick or tips from the pro’s at ST…?

stealth is sweet maybe take to a car body shop and ask them. I hate advertising for people too…
