Without lowering my seat post or taking off both wheels? Does it maybe come with an internal bike rack option like the Pilot does (or did, anyway)?
Might retire my truck, looking at the RX 400h as a replacement.
Many Thanks,
John

I take off the front wheel and lay down two of the three seats and the bike fits with plenty of room.
Yes! I routinely stick my bike in the back of my 330. If you drop one of the back seats and take of the front wheel, shouldn’t be a problem.
I can even fit my 47cm QR in the trunk of my Lexus IS by removing both wheels.
Depends on the size of your bike! I can’t put mine in standing up… I ride a 56cm…gotta lay it flat with seats down.
Thanks for the feedback, I ride a larger frame than that, so I imagine upright is not an option. As long as I can fit three people, one bike, and a soccer bag in the back I should be good to go.
My Ford F-150 Super Crew w/shell is great, but the Lexus gets 3x the mileage in the city, and 2x on the highway, so…
If I can get a bike in the back of a MINI Cooper, while keeping my back wheel attached, I dont see where you would have a problem with a Lexus RX.
I had something like this in mind…
Pretty sure the bike can fit, but I don’t want to deal with installing the seat post every time.
You won’t be able to do it like that upright with a 54/56 or greater frame. The seat will hit the roof of the car. I think you can in the GX and LX, but that’s because they have higher roofs.
However, you can sort of angle the bike so that it is leaning to the side, with the seat of the bike leaning on the side of the rear seat that remains up. There will still be room to fit 3 people (driver +2 passengers), plus a bag or two in the back.
The RX, while stylish and great quality, has a suprisingly compact interior. The RXh demonstrates great innovation, but Lexus is not shy in communicating the objective of the hybrid engine is NOT for environmental reasons (such as on the Prius), but rather to give a V6 engine the power of 8 cylinders. As well, incorporating a hybrid engine into a AWD vehicle is an inccredibly complex task.
You definitely cannot do that in the back of the RX. Even my tiny 48cm Kestrel needs to be leaned over to fit. A larger bike or one with a fixed seatpost (like the Scott Plasma) is tougher. The RX can hold the bikes, but not totally upright.
Dude, if you’re cruisin’ for chicks it’s:
“Can I get a bike in the back of my Lamborghini?”
…and NO, you can’t.
Ford F-150 to Lexus? That’s quite a jump! You should just get a Pilot since you know that they have a system that works and it gets mileage similar to the Lexus for a lot less money. Just my 2 cents.

Awesome. Till I got a roofrack, I had to fit my 58cm trek roadbike with aerobars in the back seat of my Pontiac Grand Prix 2-door–it won’t fit in the trunk. And I could do it with the rear wheel on and without touching the seatpost or the aerobar.
I’ll take a picture for y’all next time it’s raining outside and I want to transport my bike.
Both my road bike and mountain bike fit (one at a time) in the back of my RX350. I lay the bike down and have both back seats down.
This was a critical purchase requirement. My Lexus sales rep told me to just bring in my bike so I did and we put my bike in the back of an RX right on the lot.
I really wanted to be able to stand the bike up as well as shown in the picture above. As others have said, there just isn’t enough vertical clearance. I almost went with an Acura MDX (Acura version of the Honda Pilot) because it has enough space to do that. In the end I liked the RX more and wanted to get back to Lexus. Acura just launched the new MDX. I don’t know if it has the same space in the back as the previous model but I’m sure it is worth a look if you haven’t bought a vehicle yet.
I have an appt. tomorrow with a dealer that sells both Lexus and Acura - will be looking at the MDX, RX and GX, may even bring the bike with me.
Depending on the size of the frame and seatpost, you might be able to get it in the MDX. I have an MDX, but keep my bike on a hitch-mounted rack (my size 56 frames won’t fit in upright with the wheel off).
The GX will likely fit the bike in, but the 8 cylinder engine is very thirsty.
Has anyone tried this with a new FJ Cruiser from Toyota or the new Jeep Unlimited?
