Campagnolo to Shimano 11 speed conversion

I am looking to buy a pair of wheels and a friend is offering a pair of ffwd wheels with dtswiss hubs. I have Shimano 11 speed system on my bike, but the wheels that I want to get are coming with Campagnolo 11 speed. Ive read that two systems are somewhat comparable but is it possible (if yes, then how) to convert 11 speed Campagnolo hub to 11 speed Shimano ?

As far as I know, cog spacing is the same for 11 speed so you needn’t change a thing, except adjust the derailleur a bit since the cassette itself is a bit more outboard (also the reason that some people use campy 11 speed if they want to use older wheels that cant be converted to 11 speed shimano, but I’ve only heard this anecdotally).

But if you want to use a shimano cassette, then you have to get a shimano freehub body that fits on that hub and change them out.

Buy a Shimano freehub body.

Thanks. But would it work if the body is hub specific ?
as here: http://www.ffwdwheels.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/FFWD_HubHistory.pdf

Sorry, I assumed you knew what I meant.

You should buy a Shimano freehub body that is compatible with your rear hub.

Contact FFWD and confirm that the DT 11spd freehub will fit. It probably will, and it’s easy to pop on and off with no tools.

Alternately you can just use C11 cassettes on the wheel you have. Spacing of C11 and S11 is nearly identical and it will shift fine. The downside is that Campy doesn’t make any cheap 11spd cassettes.

Yes, I bought a set of Campy wheels that came with a shim 11 hub, and converted it back to campy 10.
wanna buy the shim11 hub?

The obvious solution here is to sell the Shimano and switch to Campy.

A Campy 11s cassette works perfectly with Shimano 11s. My tri-training wheels are Campy and they work perfectly with Di2 11s shifting; conversely, I have mechanical Campy SR11 on my road bike, and often use a Shimano cassette on that without being able to tell the difference from a pure Campy set-up. So to answer your question, if your pal is selling the cassette with the wheels, you don’t have to do anything - just put the wheels on the bike and ride away. If he’s selling you the wheels without the cassette, buy a Campy 11s cassette, put the wheels on your bike, and ride away.

Thanks. I have sent an email to FFWD but no reply yet. I went to a local dealer that sells ffwd wheels he said it should be no problem to change from Campagnolo to Shimano, but I need to bring the wheels so he knows exactly which freehub to use. I also tested C11 on the my bike with S11 and have not noticed any big difference. Shifting perfectly without any adjustment, only few gears were a bit louder and perhaps need some adjustment.

Do you think you might be way over thinking this? As already mentioned, DT Swiss 180/240/350 hubs all use the same freehub body and the Shimano 11-speed freehub body is easily sourced from Amazon and Ebay and the freehub body typically can be swapped without need of anything other than a quick release skewer to pop-off the drive side end cap.
