I saw them at REI (local store, not online) today, didn’t try it on but the fabric looks like good quality. on the stand they show the shirt as a replacement for a baselayer, so you wear your jersey on it but it i good enough to wear it alone. Bladder is fully hidden on the back so even if you wear it alone the blue bladder is not visible. It was in the bike section of the store but, I am a bit worried about how the body heat will effect the water? You can ice it as much as you want but that thing is on your back and will met instantly also it contours your back so if you put ice in it or freeze it it will poke your back.
Has anyone tried it in vegas? Call me crazy but they made the marketing wrong, that thing will rock on trail runs!
You are only allowed to wear it if you also wear your compression socks at the same time.
Why would this be any better than a regular camelbak on a run? I’m assuming it will move up and down on your back as you run, potentially causing some ugly chafing since it is intended as a baselayer. I can see the value on a bike because you don’t have the pack catching air as you ride but not convinced on the run as I don’t see how it has any benefit over a separate pack. Plus, I’d think the adjustability would be less because you don’t have straps and without all the nifty pockets to store your stuff in what fun it is? Admittedly I haven’t seen them in person, just in ads.
Is there any adjustability or it is just a really tight fitting baselayer?
No just like a tri top. they come in various sizes. no chaffing because no bouncing

I just got one from them. I think it’s a viable top for definitely sprint and olympic (and maybe even half-ironman - the bladder is quite big) races for people that want maximum aerodynamics. I haven’t yet tried it under a wetsuit. But the fit and fabric are first rate.

Bladder is really low profile considering the volume. Only thing can cause a problem (maybe discomfort) would be the hose if you use it under a wetsuit. Or at least it will look like you have a huge vein on your shoulder!
I am really imressed with the fabric! And doesn’t look bad either.
No bouncing when you run?
Can’t find them online, even at REI, where did you get yours?
I would suggest NOT freezing the water. Depending on volume, the ice cube will NOT melt instantly. You will end up with an ice pack on the middle of your back for an hour+. Muscles get cold, and tight, then hurt…
My $.02 from mountain biking with a frozen 100oz bladder…
YMMV, (Mo)Joe
No bouncing when you run?
Yes but the camelbak not the ones you have on the front.
Har har har
.
I haven’t personally tried one but we received a size run at our store about a week or so ago and we featured it last night during the 2nd Annual Tribe Multisport Fashion Show (to great reviews). I’m pretty sure they were designed for just cycling although they could probably work just as well for running (I’m not sure they would work for swimming). From what I understand Garmin Chipotle has been using them and they’re also quite popular for cross races (I counted at least 2 at cross vegas).
