Calculating Average on Multiple Pace Times

Anyone know of a formula to calculate the average pace time for multiple pace times (e.g., 7.20/mile, 6.37/mile, 6.45/mile, etc.). I’ve googled the topic but am only finding single event calculators out there. I could spend the time figuring it out manually I guess but would like something for future reference.

Thanks.

.

creating an excel sheet for this wouldn’t be hard to do

average pace 1 X mileage = time 1
average pace 2 X mileage = time 2
average pace 3 X mileage = time 3

total time / total mileage = total average pace

make sure time is put into decimal form as I see you’ve already done…6:30 pace = 6.5 OR 390 total seconds…

Thanks! Found what I was looking for in the responses!

I see you found your answer, but this little tool might help you too:

You put in your splits for various distances and it calculates the pace for each split, and cumulative paces.

Once you get the hang of how it works, it’s kind of neat. There are two examples (click Example 1 and Example 2) which pretty much demonstrate how to use it properly.
