C02 vs. frame pump

Do you use c02 or a frame pump? Can c02 units inflate up to 110 psi?

Don’t know my Co2 canisters don’t have gauges on them. Hey MR Tibbs I have some secondhand used canisters, do you want some for your team?

CO2’s for sure. A 12g cartridge will take a 700c tire to around 90 - 100psi, nothing specific on the 650’s, expect it would reach 110psi. A 16g cartridge should get a 700c tire into the 125 range.

Your very cute, very cute.

I know it’s not “cool”, but I use a frame pump. I’ve read 3 or 4 race reports where people have wasted their CO2 by not inserting it properly and then have had to drop out of the race because they can’t fix a flat. I am perfectly happy with my frame pump.

Do you use a full size one or a little one?

Well, usually I go full-sized all the way, but in this instance I use a small one.

Frame pump (Full Zefal) for training and gas for races. I have only been stranded three times in 40 years two of them have been mult. flats with co2. And once with a broken fork. All others I limped in home. The co2 is the only way to go in a race, but I like the safety of a real metal pump if I have several flats on one ride. I don’t need it much but when you do you do real bad. G I have "saved several dozen out of co2 riders with my Zefal too.

You sound like my ex-girlfriends.

I agree with g-man race with co2 and train with pump. I have used zefal with good success in the past. Now I use a small Topeak that I carry in my camelback for training. It has a metal barrel and pressure gage that is pretty accurate. You can use it as a hand pump but it also has the capabality of configuring like a small floor pump. The trick with co2 is being familiar with the proceedure before you need it in a race. I also agree secondhand co2 matches secondhand racing team.

Secondhand gear must be usable.

It’s usably you just have to determine what for
.

I could make them into little whiskey flasks. Numb the race pain the old fashion way.

Thats more than reasonable but only if there is enough to pass around
.

Always! It’s “Team” Secondhand Racing after all.

Nice of you to say Sir, but I’m guessing I’ll go to the front of the class for that and not the top of the class?

Which Topeak is that? I use the Roadmorph but would like to see if I can find a smaller one. Can it go up to 110+ psi?

It’s the topeak combo master blaster(cmb-2g) about 17" and will go to 100psi at least.
