I posted on here before and received some great advice (thank you to those who responded!) but now I can’t find it. I’m looking into buying a tri bike for next season. I’m currently in grad school so I’m only looking to spend about $1000-$2000. I’ve been doing sprint tris using a Gigi motobecane road bike and just want something to take me to the next level. I’ll be competing in my first Olympic and ‘light’ half ironman this fall, so we’ll see how that goes. Are there bikes that are better suited for specific distances?
I’ve done 3 tris so far this summer and have qualified for the USA nationals in 2 weeks, but I know nothing and feel like I’ll be way out of my league so any advice is welcomed!
What brand bike does your Local Bike Shop sell? Maybe they’ll have some good options. The most important aspect of buying a new tri bike (that should work for all distances) is making sure you can get into a good aerodynamic position on it. Good luck!
