Anyone have one yet or try??

I have the Scicon Aerotech Evolution… and it’s great, but my friend is currently looking for something…

Looks pretty easy to pack too

That looks pretty slick!

I thought so too…

at $1000+ and then add shipping? AND it’s 35 lbs?

it may be nice but that’s a non starter for a lot of folks.

It’s actually 911.00 and it weighs 29.3 pounds.

The Scicon is bigger, weighs 4lbs less… but comparable in price. I think the Buxum is much better made though.

My bike costs a fortune… and if you travel a fair amount this may be a good option.

I like the fact that it doesn’t look like there is a bike on the inside.

I have the Scicon Aerotech Evolution as well. Really two of them. One for me and one for my wife. They have done a good job of bike protection, but the baggage gorillas have done a lot a lot of damage to the cases. The wheel skewer mounts got punched out early on and I devised a fix for those. The case then started failing around the wheel caster mounts. My fixes for those held up well until our last trip to Whistler where one case was dropped so hard it punched the entire caster and repair through the case:(

I think some of this drop and caster mount issue is the lack of a lower grab handle on the case leads to the baggage guys dropping it. I should have added these sooner. I did this for the previous generation Thule hardcases and it made them much easier to handle. Either way I don’t know how much longer the Scicons will hold up.

The weight issue for something like the buxombox or the newer Thule hardcases really does reduce their value. I’m looking seriously at the new Premier hard bike case. It is a close replica of the Scicon Aerotech, but has what appear to be replaceable case inserts where the casters mount, uses a zipper closure instead of latches, has a pocket for a third wheel and pockets to fit tribars w/o removal. All for $599. https://www.premierholding.org/products/bike-travel-case
