Build up to LA 2028 and World Triathlon ITU Thread

Yes, wasn’t saying the swim/bike would be completely Brit exclusive, Lombardi is brilliantly well rounded and should improve this year, the other three have the slight weaknesses though that could be enough to see them dropped/not make a pack (its what im hoping for anyway)

out of interest what about the French junior world champ bronze medalist Jessica fullagar …

Well she’s now British. But you knew that, didn’t you?

Generally I think the front pack may get a bit faster if GTB makes it back to that, and Coldwell is there. W’lll see

Did she represent France as an adult? If not, i’d say she’s intited to switch (isn’t she sort of half French half British?)

she was 20 years old when she switched. ( I had a look she did no senior race for france)

If she did a WC for France then under my rules, she would have had to stay French I reckon.

He is trolling @jackets’ nation representation binary philosophy - once a meuf: always French.

I assume in europe they have enough junior only races, that athletes can afford that and race sprint distance among their junior peers (I know US sends their juniors to Euro jr specific races every summer). Here in the US, as juniors, it’ll be a given that as a 17 year old they’ll race in some CC in Mexico or Caribbean country early part of every spring against “senior” level throughout their development as there is only the USAT “junior cup” summer series. Of course now that the new CC standard is sorta this hybrid racing series between not truely elite, but not AG only, I wonder how that would factor in.

Or just import talent $$? Jimena Renata De La Peña Schott

Why the hell not if you can? I personally think moving to other federations once you’ve raced senior level (even as a junior) one shouldn’t be allowed but that’s irrelevant to the current rules. We all have rules we agree or disagree with, and that’s almost irrelevant to the actual rules.

there was people who wanted race threads… iam not going to start one but happy if one takes some info from bellow

world cub lanza 14th march

female start 4 pm male start 6 pm Lanza is the same as London time

free to watch on world tri tv

its a pretty strong female field with like 4 athtles that have won a world series race.

pretty good bike course with around 285 m climbing ( one climb from 5 to 85 meter ) should be a bike where the likes of Gbt, Sophie Evans ( Coldwell) , Candice denizot and club mate Lehair ,Lindemann ( eim might struggle to make the swim pack ) szalai should be able to pull away on the bike and being in Spain one of the Spanish females should do well.

for our Ironmans that would be abut 2550 m of climbing over an ironman distance ( funnily almost to the meter what the ironman Lanza bike course has …which is one of the toughest on the circuit )

male race is also pretty solid

connix, hellwig, stapley ,rider and a few more should hold cantero at bay on the bike ?

Thanks for the Ajax-style race preview post! Much appreciated

Will definitely watch this one. I hope the broadcast lives up to the standards of the course. So far World Cup streams have been mostly subpar (not even a leaderboard).

Excellent news! They were incredible in Wollongong. I mean incredible. To pair McCloy up with Vicky Holland would’ve been even better probably (it’s short course after all), but no complaints from me.

Barry?

Where did you see Barry?

I think that’s just his dream team, not actually what will happen.

Lehair added to Lanzarote, can’t see anyone else.
