BTA double bottle bracket

Just saw this new one from Speeco: Speeco on Instagram: "Our new Double BTA Bracket for bottlecages🤩 Super light 3D printed Aluminum bracket to fit 2 bottlecages on one single mounting point, in different configurations🛠️ Combines perfectly with our bottlecage spacers and angled bottlecage spacers🧱 Order them quickly before they are sold out. Check out our website for more information!ℹ️ *Sold without bottles, bottlecages or mounting bolts*"

Will try it with some pros who have been using the 3 slot Wolftooth B-rad bracket.

TriRig also just came out with a mounting bar for multiple BTA bottles.

Multi-Bottle BTA Rail

TriRig one is about the same cost, a bit longer allowing for 2 cages on a single side, looks a bit sturdier, and has threaded holes so you don’t need to deal with nuts on the opposite side.

When is that adjustable BTA riser mount coming?

$4 piece of aluminum from Home Depot, nuts on the bottom of the bottle bolts or tap the hole if you want it to look cleaner.

Every bar seems to have a slightly different configuration: bolts coming from the bottom, or bolts coming from the top, so unless the manufacturer provides it with their bar like Evolve does, we have been 3-D printing our own for pro athletes

Yeah but unless have unlimited access to a 3d printer, it’s difficult to find the exact placement for bottles that checks all the boxes for the rider.

If someone makes an adjustable bta riser, you can adjust for various heights. Add a wolftooth b-rad or the tririg bta-rail, and then you can also adjust fore/aft position. Best of both worlds.

Definitely an interesting idea. Sounds heavy!

And talking about heavy, most of these guys have two 1L bottles upfront bta, and the idea of having four 1L bta bottles seems a little bit unrealistic

Ignore the 4 bottle setup. I was eluding to the middle piece which appears to be an adjustable riser. Picture a 1 bottle bta setup where you don’t have to compromise your position (pad width and head position) because of the bta mounting limitations on your bike and then it could be optimized for aerodynamics specifically for you. The limitations could be because of your base bar, extensions, bike, fit, or available bta solutions.

The existing tririg bta riser (80mm) is slightly too short for me. I have to move the bottle rearward (utilizing a 2 hole b-rad) to get it out of the way of my arms. I have another 130mm riser that is too tall as it causes me to hold my head a little higher than I would naturally prefer. So I need something in-between. Is that 100mm,110, or 120mm? I’m not sure. Maybe the 80mm riser is fastest for me. Who knows. But without adjustability, it becomes like testing bike positions 15+ years ago…… a bit of a pain.

love the idea!!

the other thing that would do is eliminate the need to source hard to find 55-110mm M4 bolts

Yes another benefit.

Can’t provide a timeline but it is very much in the works. Fingers crossed Ironman doesn’t arbitrarily decide to somehow limit bottles up front. Without a carb drink offered on course I genuinely need every oz of fluid I can carry…

Are you saying the adjustable riser that stevej is asking for is in the works?

btw, our double bottle BTS bracket with retention loops pre-installed will be available soon. Will have the option for 3 bottles like you saw Magnus using with our saddle, too.

Yup. The one in the picture he posted is a prototype but should be pretty similar.

That looks slick. I ordered the TriRig bar, this is how I’m currently set up.

as a note, the Speeco linked to in the OP, and the Wolftooth B-rad brackets have threaded holes so no nuts are needed.

Ah my bad. Looked like just slots. I’ve broken at least 3 wolfooth b-rads in various setups though. Wayyyyy to flimsy unless you double stack them.

Here’s my current setup. Thanks to @Bryancd for the recommendation on the ultimate scoops. Super comfortable and they are worth every penny.

Would like to get the cage a little higher with the option to run 2 bottles. Either double stacked or in-line with each other.

This is all I am using. Pretty much 10 times cheaper and archives the same thing.

Same here
