So i was playing around on the Brooks website a few weeks ago and noticed an application for their wear testing program. It asks for gender, shoe size & width, gait style and mpw. Figured I’d fill it out and never hear anything from them again, but last week, I got an email asking me to test the new Addiction - i just have to fill out two surveys (one now, one in 3 months). Got them this morning - haven’t run yet, and I won’t bore everyone with a review or anything, but I just thought I’d throw the idea out there…I got a free pair of running shoes.
I don’t work for Brooks or anything; I don’t always run in them either, but the idea of a free pair of shoes seems like something I can get behind.
I do the same thing, but for Nike. Requires a couple of surveys and completion of training logs. Is interesting to see some of the new shoes, but sometimes they don’t work (fit/feel) as well as your ‘own’ shoes.
Do you get to keep the shoes from Brooks or do you have to send them back?
Cripes! Good for you!! I just BOUGHT a pair of Brooks Addiction GTS 8’s. They are not my preferred brand, but after (finally) getting a real fitting done at a real running shoe store, and “test driving” many shoes of many different brands…the Brooks is what I left with. So maybe they are now my preferred brand…time will tell.

I got them for free about 4 months ago, way before they hit the stores
nb wants shoes back… just got a pair in the mail today with return info!
I do for both Brooks and Asics. none of tem asked the shoes back. They have my info and running mechanics. In my opinion they should ask the shoes back and examine the used ones in order to make them better. they only rely on the survey (fit, feel and performance) for the final decision. but if the shoe has a lot of wear then normal in 20 days or running maybe they might want it back. on the contract they say testers should be prepeared to return any shoes they go.
I just filled out a thing for nb, how long did it take before you heard from them? Did they send you a shoe that was your #1 preference? Brooks basically said i wasnt what they were looking for before i could go to the next step!

If they’re checking specific durability issues they’ll probably ask for them back. For instance, if they’re concerned about outsole durability they’ll go through their applicants to find the people who run high mileage, send them all shoes and in a month they’ll find out how their outsoles hold up.
Filled it out two weeks ago… there are size options for shoe,shirt and shorts with a few general questions about training ect.
I was not given any notice of being selected to test the shoes they just showed up via ups.
