Brooks Ghost vs Ghost 2 Need size/fit input

I’ve been doing the bulk of my running in the Brooks Ghost (original version) for the last year or so. It’s a great shoe for me. Fairly light (for a trainer), nice soft forefoot cushioning and a low-to-the-ground feel.

Unfortunately, I’ve gone through my last pair, and the new Ghost 2 is now out. So, I’m having trouble finding the original version in my size for a replacement.

Has anyone run in both the original Ghost and the Ghost 2 that can give a compare/contrast?

Specifically, I’m looking for sizing help (I’m a US Mens 11.5 in the original) and comment on fit (forefoot, midfoot, arch support, etc.) Do the Ghost 2 still have the light-on-the-foot, low-to-the-ground feel of the originals?

Thanks.

Steve

I have heard that there is a more pronouced arch in the new one, there is an Ok review Runners World

Steve,

I did the wear testing for the Ghost 2 and love it. Actually just bought 2 new pair. It’s true to size. The Ghost was a racing flat size. I wear a 10 in the Ghost and a 9.5 in the Ghost 2. 9.5 is my “normal” shoe size.

It took me a couple of runs to get use to the slight difference in midsole placement but after that, my Glycerin’s just sat in the closet. I did my last 20 miler in the GO2 and it went great. And that was after putting almost 300 miles on it.

More pronounced arch in Ghost 2 but a MUCH better fit in my opinion. They improved the forefoot cushioning.
